Drive Home The Car With the Jean Interior

In 1973 the AMC (American
Motors Corporation) made two cars. The Hornet and Gremlin had an optional Levi's interior package. This consisted
of special “blue jeans” spun nylon fabric covering the seats, door inserts and map pockets on the door panels. The
addition of orange stitching and copper rivets furthered the illusion of the Dungaree look. A Levi Trademark decal
on the front fenders identified the car as a “Levi” packaged automobile. The Levi interiors could be had in both blue
and brown. It should be noted that the base price was pushed over the magic $2000.00 range by inflation for that time.

| Our resource for Blue Jeans |
We are not sure if a denim interior will ever be produced again but with the auto manufacturer
showing us many new cars with retro styling we can only hope for a jean interior treatment again someday.
